Job Responsibilities

The Center for Disaster Medicine (CKM) is an interdisciplinary center at Gothenburg University, located at the Department of Clinical Sciences. The center is the National Board of Health and Welfare's knowledge center for total defense medicine and conducts research and education in disaster medicine and related research areas. The center formation is led in its daily work by a director and has a steering group that reports to the department's management. CKM was established in 2023 and recently, the operations have expanded significantly, including receiving funding from the Swedish Research Council for a graduate school for a five-year period.

Due to the center's significant growth in general and the graduate school in particular, the department needs an administrator who can work within the center formation. The position therefore includes a breadth of administrative tasks to manage daily operations as well as educational administration for the graduate school.

As an administrator for the center formation, your responsibilities include ongoing financial administration, such as supplier and customer invoicing and purchasing. Additionally, administrative tasks within graduate education, fee management, SINK applications, eligibility administration, travel bookings, and more are included. Support is needs-driven, and additional administrative responsibilities and tasks for department administration may be included.

The work is largely performed based on deadlines, and a significant part of the job involves providing information and service to researchers and teachers in various ways. Since the center's activities are under development, you will be involved in developing the administrative routines of the center formation. We offer a job in a stimulating work environment with good opportunities for personal development. Contributing to the development of processes and routines for effective administration with high quality is an important part of the work.

Working as an educational administrator for a graduate school is responsible and varied. The work is independent, and you have a central role as the administrative responsible, which involves close collaboration with course leaders, teachers, and other colleagues within the department's educational administration. You also provide support to students in administrative matters related to the education.

Your responsibilities as an educational administrator include publishing course information on the university's learning platform, scheduling, room bookings, handling examinations, and reporting results. An important part is working with various administrative support systems such as Ladok, Canvas, and Fubas. Other administrative tasks may also be included, and the tasks will be adapted to the needs of the operations.

The graduate school is national, with seven higher education institutions participating with teachers, doctoral students, and courses. CKM leads and coordinates the school's activities, and as an administrator, you have an important coordinating function with other higher education institutions.

Qualifications

You have a relevant higher education degree or experience that the employer deems equivalent. Experience working with administration within higher education is highly valued, as is experience with administrative systems.

As a person, you are structured and have the ability to drive your work forward independently. You have the ability to establish and develop administrative routines within overarching frameworks. You have a developed sense of service and are pragmatic and communicative.

The work involves many contacts both internally and externally, which places high demands on your ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
